I love the poster and I also love the movie. Automatically reminds me of the dramatic music, the Golden Gate Bridge and the ever-wonderful Jimmy Stewart.
Alice- Thanks! Stewart is easily one of my all time fav actors. When I look at the the poster, I think of the vertiginous shot of the stairs from Scotty's perspective and of the course the bizarro dream sequence. Fairly avant-garde stuff for it's time.
hey, just caught u from the sarty :) ace blog btw I LOVE vintage-y posters
i especially love this one. i've been trying to find one on the internet, but i can't! i'm absolutely gutted too. have u seen the italian version of this as well as the blue/red one's too. really interesting versions of this iconic piece!
Rudy- Thanks! And isn't Sart's blog the greatest? I love people watching esp well (or at least interestingly) dressed people.
If your looking to purchase a copy, John Hazelton at filmposters.com has one. I think the red and blue versions are window cards which at one point, I thought about buying instead. (much much cheaper)

That's pre recent re-decorations and I haven't re-hung it as yet. Probably me, but the top of a flight of stairs is the only place to hang it!
