Ambiguity is very key to his films in that his villains are usually likeable and charming, and he very often manipulates the audience into identifying with them, even rooting for them, probably most famously in Psycho. I always wanted to see Dial M in 3-D which is what it was oddly enough filmed in.MacGuffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01735435262362510652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-69686684274700402312007-07-10T11:25:00.000-07:002007-07-10T11:25:00.000-07:00I just added it. I also added "Dial M For Murder," which I realized I hadn't seen since college (1982!).

Ambiguity is a theme running through Hitchcock's work, isn't it? Yeah, the overall juxtapostion of type and collage combined with the bright orange colour is just graphic genius to me.

You need to queue it up, it's one of his better ones. I believe it was adapted from Patricia Highsmith and one of the main themes, both visual & verbal, is the idea of the double or opposites and duplicity itself, tacit or otherwise. Classic Hitchcock.MacGuffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01735435262362510652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-82370579351808493792007-07-09T21:50:00.000-07:002007-07-09T21:50:00.000-07:00Great poster-- interesting layout-- best friend Ji...Great poster-- interesting layout-- best friend Jim, who is a graphic designer by training and profession gets me looking at things like this.

I haven't seen this movie. When the DVD came out, I read the description, and it reminded me, in a way, of aother Hitchcock movie, one of my favorites,"The Lady Vanishes." The connections are slim-- mystery, on a train. But similar in that nobody does a red herring like Hitchcock.Johnny Yenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06561248220244037567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-69846779782793604042007-07-09T13:49:00.000-07:002007-07-09T13:49:00.000-07:00I'm glad you like it, you see often enough. :)I'm glad you like it, you see often enough. :)MacGuffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01735435262362510652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-74052434230084847262007-07-09T06:33:00.000-07:002007-07-09T06:33:00.000-07:00it is a nice one! and the movie was great. probabl...it is a nice one! and the movie was great. probably one of my favorite hitchcocksBlancodeviosahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08456570013880164694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-43294825279704163902007-07-08T10:30:00.000-07:002007-07-08T10:30:00.000-07:00It does, doesn't it?It does, doesn't it?MacGuffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01735435262362510652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-86814685342428001332007-07-07T23:12:00.000-07:002007-07-07T23:12:00.000-07:00Nice poster, it looks familiar...Nice poster, it looks familiar...Mobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15000570319822563708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8287242546641932113.post-61474327395584885792007-07-07T15:55:00.000-07:002007-07-07T15:55:00.000-07:00al- It is very orange isn't it?
