Figures you'd really like one I DON'T own. lol

Didn't you sell your copy? If not, I'd like to borrow it.

Rented a copy from Netflix, but I guess I just wasn't in the mood as it moved slow and bored me shitless.

It may be a grim looking thing - but that sort of poster makes me want to see the movie!

"Le Samourai" next please?

the poster reminds me of "blade runner" or "dark city" with the hard-boiled look against the futuristic backdrop.
it's pretty cool!

That's the moll with the Sean Young Bladerunner haircut distracting you, Bucky.

I'd have to check, but I believe I still own this one, as I really enjoyed it.

you buying this one too?

ultra- There's a glowing endorsement! Do you like the poster at all, sir?

al- If it grim it's gotta be great, right? Le Samourai, eh? All in good time my curly headed, flippin-the-bird happy friend.

bucky- Yeah, it reminds me a great deal of Blade Runner, something I almost mentioned in the my little description. I can't imagine it being half as good, even if it is Godard.

mob- Cool.

blanco- It's being delivered as I type this. j/k.

I've gone a little sour on Godard after the film snob ex-boyfriend I once had. Oh well.

But I'm watching The Third Man for you tonight!

MacGuffin said...

That sucks. If blanco and I ever split, it would ruin one of my fav tv shows of all time, Poirot.(Stop snickering!)

I hope you at least like it. It really is one my favorite films, in my top ten easily. Endlessly rewatchable.

Good or bad, let me know what you thought of it.

Al said...

There is no bad in The Third Man.

My most favourite film!

al- You won't get any arguements outta me but all the same I'm curious what Ellen thinks. Mob needs to watch it as well. Wasn't it recently voted best all time English film?

What? Even better than The Land that Time Forgot??

I *seriously* doubt that!...

Cool noir poster. The film itself is a bit weird, but on message a la Fahrenheit 451.

MacGuffin said...

al- To put in proper perspective, even better than Bridget Jones's Diary.

erik- All the more reason to see it, thanks.

Mac--yeah, the poster is cool. Does remind me of Bladerunner, but like some of the trailers to some films, led to disappointment (for me). I liked Bladerunner much better, yep, the womans hairdo reminds me of Sean Young's character.
